How much does my duct help? I have no idea. It seemed to allow me to achieve 1 more psi of boost (to put my car at 19 PSI and holding that amount steady)
As far as having go faster for the duct to help, well, uh that's the idea! To go faster! Based on physics, yes, by going faster the duct will help more than when going slowly. Air is ALWAYS travelling under the car (and around the car, and over the car) when the car is in motion. The faster you are going, the more air will get pushed onto my duct, and then up onto my air filter.
I saw your home-made unit a while back, I think when you first posted the link. Not bad! I was worried about the proximity of your air cleaner to the intercooler. As far as getting it into the inner fender, you'll have to cut it somewhere (either cut a hole to snake hose through, or for a cradle for the air filter, like Jouko's) Yes, my air cleaner is mounted directly to the AMM.
Once I get my new turbo, we will really find out if this helps. It was cheap (less than $70) so I figured I'd give it a shot.
