IMHO the APC is very inconsistent because of the "knock sensor" and this method would be doing the same thing...rely on the knock sensor and back the boost out sporadically.

IF I was going to use pin 19 I would try to make some sort of analog volt sweep as a representation of the knock sensor or set an LED to a level that definetly represents knock. But then again I wouldn't waste my time. If the car was hammering that hard, I know what it sounds like and feels like.

Most modern cars do not listen to the knock sensor over 4K because they can not accuratly measure "knock". Too much noise in the backround.

*For me* I'm happy with no "knock protection" other than a good tune, quality fuel and realistic boost levels without pushing the stock T3 WAY out of it's efficiency like most people seem to do and create more heat than anything else. (I.E. 15-20psi)

BTW with the APC at times it would spike to 20psi just to be able to run an average of 14psi above 4K no matter how much I fiddled with the pots. IMO that's worse than running a manual controller at 14psi...I can't justify $350 for someone to modify the APC which is really nothing more than dumbing down the knock sensor sensitivity (The very thing we are arguing about) and reshaping the "curve" with a few diodes or whatever soldered in.

Thanks for the offer on the dyno events, but I have access to two of my clients rollers any time I need them with wide band O2. :-) I'll be on it soon enough. I may toss on 30-36lb injectors and a Super AFC to compensate and change the fuel curve to what looks good...I think my buddy has one hanging around he's not using.

I know the APC is kinda of a "Saab thing" that is unique to the marquis and some may not like the idea of removing it. To each his own. :-)
