I fully understand the Saab transmission issues. That's why I'm keeping the car at 14psi and don't beat it. It's my daily driver that makes "wooshy sounds". I like turbos. <shrug> :-) The car scoots...gets plenty of second gear wheelspin. That's enough for me in this car. I am just going to do some safety measures like a 3" back exhaust, some 30lb injectors and that's about it. Maybe some port work on the turbo housings and other "free" things if I'm bored.
In regards to the Nissan with 450ish hp. What's the point? Well, it DOES spin the wheels really bad, but it's also moving ahead at INSANE speeds once you get past 40-50mph at full boost. It just sorta "surfs" the tires in third and fourth. (The Saab by comparison gets almost the same wheelspin in first and second without the limited slip on so so Yokohama tires!)
Put it this way in regards to the Sentra's performance, I nailed it in third after my friend in his ZR1 with mild mods nailed it and two thousand RPM later it looked like he hit the brakes as I SHOT by him, and I opened that up to about 15 cars by the top of third. He just laughed for about three days after that.
Best trap speed with full boost was 124mph, and it drives like a stock car. :-)
*Normally* I run between 8-15psi on the street. It makes for a very fun fast car. I ran 12.4@116mph at 15psi just driving up to the track after work with the car all heat soaked in "as I drove it there" condition.
So yes FWD has it's limitation, but MAN does the car roll out on the top end and it's fun at lower boost levels. I run out of gear WAY before I run out of HP. It SLAMS the rev limter at 172mph pulling like a freight train.
Oh, and at the track with slicks, first gear is the only gear that wheelspin really is a problem and even then your making heavy forward acceleration. That's what the max power was made for.
