I can certainly make improvements in tire and suspension areas that would reduce the low-end excessive wheelspin in both my normal '85 turbo and my high-cornpreshun '86 LPT. You sound as if you WANT to spin all the way through 4th gear. I would rather have less horsepower and torque and just hook up and go. IF a proven solution to the transmission weakness issue surfaces (sure it will), I would certainly push the engine to new levels...they can do it no problem.
In regards to Mike's rant below, I just wanted to clarify that we will not be reusing the pinion bearings in his old box. That would be silly...they only cost about $25 for the pair. He is right, though...there was no warning of the catastrophic failure he experienced (unless you consider his driving habits to be a warning...I know I did!) Sorry Mike :)
I really like fast Classic 900 Saabs...I really hope you get 400 horses to the pavement without crazy wheelspin and shattered transmissions. Good luck...seriously.
