It was directed to those who think that the Saab C900 transmission, let alone a whole host of other components on the car will handle 400 hp+ with ease!
I ain't going to argue with you Jay, because you seem to have a good handle on how turbos work (better than I do, I'm sure) and you *seem* to have a handle on the Saab's limitations (leaving aside all of the APC stuff; that is for another day). APC or not, FWD Saabs are not ideal drag cars! They can get to 12s in the 1/4, but go beyond that, and you'd better be willing to rebuild your tranny at least once per year, if not more. For a street car that you rely on for DD transportation, 14s is about all you can expect without constant (every 2 - 3 years) rebuilding of essential engine parts ($$$$) IMO.
As for your Sentra, I'm basically blind there. I've never worked on/owned/taken apart one, so I don't know what makes it able to withstand your abuse! I glad for you that it does!
As far as wheelspin, the Saab C900 on street tires, w/o Limited Slip and tons of power will spin through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. I'm going to be trying out some suspension mods to see if I can reduce weight transfer on the hole shot (which should keep the front wheels firmly planted on the pavement). From there, the stock clutch must be tossed if boost production & productivity is expected beyond 20 psi.
I believe the Garret T3 was shown to be effient to 20 psi, while the Mitusbishi TE05 that I run is good to about 18 psi BTW. I've pushed it beyond that, but I am well aware that it is out of it's efficiency range as it is now. I'm working on dialing it back right now.
I've seen Papadapolis put down 8s in FWD, and a Ford Focus wagon (still street legal) run 10s. I know it can be done! Of course, these dudes have sponsors like AEM who pay for all of their repair needs! I have my brother, who doesn't charge me much/anything for his labor (usually food, beverages & parts costs) Still costs cash that I need to spend elsewhere.
My car makes me smile, even if it is not a 12s car with 150 mph trap speeds. I smoked an Acura 3.2 TL (the coupe) last night EASILY. Made me malugh out loud. Of course, he's sitting in the car saying: ok, but you're still in a Saab! :)
