Hello steve,
Thanks for the advice, however a school loan is exactly where this money came from. I borrowed ever last penny i could when i was in school for "living expenses"... because at the time i had to replace my engine when it got flooded in florida.
I had other options of course, like scrap my car for parts and buy a NEW car, but... i thought at the time i could make the whole project happen for $5000....
...as we all know, that was not the case. I'll be paying for my mistake for much longer than 2 years, try 10... but... with my 2 degrees, i should have no problem finding a job in a well paying profession that i happen to love, and making money to pay it all off will come easily...
Anyways.... i just got off the phone with TOM at http://www.turbocharged.com.
He's got my hopes up at the moment, and i'll tell you why:
He can take my brand new T25 turbo, and for under $300, he will put the T3 super 60 compressor on it, clip the turbine a few degrees, balance it, and send it back to me.
did i mention he can do this in the next 2 weeks and have it sent to JAK's shop for me before i even get there???
AND since it'll be a bolt on replacement... no new exhaust manifold work needed, and no custom fabrication of oil or water lines needed... i couldn't imagine that it would take JAK long to put it on... and then my friends... THEN we make custom mapped chips...
... it's all within my reach... the risks and costs are high, but the possible rewards are plenty...
...i wonder... should i go for it?
i think i'm going to try..............
