Salutations:

I have posted a detailed and somewhat disappointing report over in the 9000 group which I think might prove informative if you have a few moments to review (thanks again to Bill Homer, JAK, Henry and everyone else who helped):

http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/bb/9000/index.html?bID=208910

While I still firmly believe that the basic BPC design is in itself a near perfect solution to truly variable stage Turbo Control - I now feel that the execution of the OEM BPC valve is fatally flawed such that I cannot justify buying a new factory one as part of the hardening process on my 1993 9000 Aero.

So, I have been reading here and I think I want to replace the unit with a MBC+A unit (Trionic 5). Not to achieve more boost - but to try to replicate as much of the variable control the BPC valve provides (before it eats itself).

I was wondering however if there are any other SAAB specific aftermarket solutions to achieve smoother boost staging other than MBA+A? Is there a solution that uses all three control hoses or does the MBC+A do this? http://www.mpperformace.com seems to be down.

I currently have my BPC feeding full boost to the engine having reversed the solenoid internally. Interesting, while not locking out over boost - it does retain the factory raise rate so that it is relatively easy to control going into over boost. This is aided somewhat by the use of an Audi/Bosch BOV which seems bleed air a little earlier and progressively (it starts to release pressure about the time I'm into the yellow/red slots).

Haven't had it on a dyno to check mixture as yet though.

Anyway - links to vendors or interesting home designs with as much detail as you can manage much appreciated.

Cheers and thanks.

Dexter J
