Salutations:

Thank you again.

Please do not think that I am trying to disparage any technology one way or the other, I believe your system (or some variation of it) may be very much what I (a lot of people actually) may be looking for because it should provide reliable over boost protection whilst allowing predicable and adjustable boost through varying atmospheric conditions. I am concerned that you feel it may not be workable on Trionic 5 MTB as fitted on my 1993 Aero.

My comments regarding springs and balls relates more to the basics of spring manufacturing - where small springs are often not held to the quality standard that would be in place for valve or even chassis springs.

You are completely right - the BPC needs regular and more careful cleaning than is often outlined here. The single wire copper leads to the coils aren't heavy enough to take anything corrosive - the woven cloth jackets can't take well to oils - so you are pretty much boned the first time you actually try to clean them with anything other than air I think.

Anyway - here is what I think I am looking for, I'm hoping this translates into something someone who knows what they are doing (like yourself) can apply.

Basically - I would like to be able to adjust pressure spool up across all gears. I could then adjust it up as it is now (stock) or slightly sharper (for fun) or slightly down for a long trip (fuel savings).

In the 9000, if the turbo comes on very sharply regularly - you stand a good chance of tearing up the engine mounts (at best), or killing off a transmission and/or several things attached to it (at worst).

I would very much like it to bring boost up in a bell curve so that it put the brought on most pressure on about 1/3 in the yellow - then tapered smoothly back about the slotted lines until it reached max pressure as set by adjustment. Then hold that pressure until released. At which point I really want it to *not* put a shock-wave back into the turbo by slamming pressure back through the intake (a better BOV I guess?).

On that note I am sort of worried that my current setting might be closing off something important turbo control loop as regards the waste gate. Is that what the extra hose is for?

So - I wonder (well am kinda hoping) if your system would work on a MTB with a diaphragm bleeder, or have I completely missed the point again? I've been know to wander around all day with my fly half open too - so don't be shy about letting me know when I'm totally off base.

Finally - if you wanted to sell me a test unit for some really serious variant climatic conditions - I live in Halifax Nova Scotia Canada.

It was about 65 degrees yesterday, it fogged over last night (and I mean like 'have I gone blind' north Atlantic Sea fog) and while it started out around 60 this morning in heavy rain - it is supposed to snow this evening despite now being sunny and about 50 degrees right now.

More importantly - I have a very experienced local shop run by a one time European rally circuit mechanic who would be more than pleased to help work this out with us as he was as taken aback at the BPC valve as I was.

There would be a real market up here for a good system for several brands given the interest Turbo's hold in this area of the country (lots of hills - fuel at .99 cents per litre for reg earlier this week).

Let me know through my site below if you are interested.
