I had a lot of problems with the brakes on my 95 but they were
'fixed' on the 96 model. I had no problems with the engine
but if you can't verify its history I would get Saab to do a cambelt
change. I did have a cracked crank cambelt pulley though. No
damage to the engine, replaced under warranty.

They were free (to the original owners) for the first three changes,
Saab USA will have a record if they did the work (it is counted
as warranty even though the warranty will have expired on this
car).

I think the 2.5 V6 is a fine engine but I always preferred to drive
it with the 4sp auto over the 5sp manual, even though I prefer
a manual usually.
