Wow- we just bought our second 9-5 in 3 months this week,and before making the "final" decision, I went and test drove a 99 328 w/premium HK system and a new 325. The sound in both cars did not, IMHOP, hold a candle to the 9-5 HK installation. I think you might have some more setup or tweaking to do, rather than speaker upgrades.
I would suggest the following for starters: (1) bring in your favortie CD of the moment and listen closely to one track; (2) restart the system in setup mode and turn loudness "off";(3) adjust the balance slightly to the right to compensate for where you are sitting on the driver's side of the car; (4) play with the "fade" setting to optomize the front-to-back setting.
From there, you're on your own...I guess upgrading the speakers might be the next thing. Any good car stereo installation store should have a listing of speaker size and type for every model of car.
