. . . for jazz, it's a great set-up, but for pop, it is a little harsh/bright.
The 3 series with HK has a full-range rear deck, and then they also have a subwoofer somewhere (couldn't tell you where, though).
I'm still going back and forth. I figure if I replace the corners in the front dash, I'll go ahead and replace the center speaker, too. We put Boston Acoustics in my wife's 9-3 SE -- back deck and front dash, but didn't mess with the in-door "mid-bass" speakers -- with startling results (positive startling, that is), but her car from the dealer sounded terrible to begin with. In the 9-3's, all the speakers are paper cones, really sad.
