The new 9-3 is due in june or so.
It will be initially a 4dr sedan with a wagon and a hatch (still up in the air for the US).
9-5 outsells the 9-3 (take out the convertible) about 4 to 1.
Why lease (like most folks do) a 9-3 for the high 300's when you can get a 9-5 in the low 400's. Saab advertised a Linear 5 spd for $419 here. W/ at and the premuim pack you'd be about $450 ish. That is a lot of car for the $$, just look at the BMW and the Audi add. 9-5 for A-4 or 330i money.
The new 9-3 should turn out to be a smaller 9-5. Hopefully the 5spd auto will fit and ESP is available.
I've heard $29,000 is the target. Awesome lease deals should be around.
The 900 was to quick to production and the 9-3 is just on an old platform.
The 9-5 platform is 50x better than the 9-3 platform.
Volvo outsells Saab 4 to 1 (exclude the V/S40)
The new 9-3 should change that.
About incentives
-- they were there, did you go to a dealer to see what the cars would sell for? We can't touch some of the December deals.
-- leasing is good now on everything
-- 0% for 36 mo w/ 20% down is still around
-- no $2002 customer cash on any Saab.
Talk to you dealer, Saab doesn't give customer cash like Chevy. But there is still money to be had.
