yeah, I've gone back and forth with that one . Turning off the loudness can definitely help. It's supposed to be a variable loudness control, meaning the higher you have the volume set, then the lesser the degree of loudness boost.. So in theory , if you're cranking the volume, then the loudness should be supplying no boost to the bass or treble.. With low level music, I think it definitely helps having it on, as it does provide a warmer/richer sound.. The problem area seems to be playing music at moderate volume levels with the loudness on, as it appears to provide a little too much boost. One can try to compensate by turning down the bass somewhat I suppose, but it still seems to muddy the sound somewhat...
