David, Therealet,
why am I trying to do this - because my car is off the road and my mechanic and I are pulling our hair out. He is a very experienced saab mechanic (Bud at J+B in Orange, CA) but he doesn't have the ISAT/breakout box.
After diagnosing and replacing the firewall valve (faulty) car seems to go, and does not seem to throw into limp home mode. The main diagnosed faulty now is that there is no communication between the ABS and the ETS. This sounds bad - but maybe its been like that for...who knows. His device can't get deeper than that.
Is it something that needs to be fixed, or is the diagnosis spurious, or is another fault - ie bad ground or hot wire, etc, throwing the ABS into shutdown...??? Bud recommended getting it to someone with the ISAT and breakout box for diagnosis and recalibration, and maybe replacement. BUT: I just called the dealer - you can imagine, $2200 for the ABS unit and $500 plus in labor. Oh my!
Thanks to you for your advice, I don't know what to do now. Any guidance is gratefully received. Yes, its a manual (93, 9000, cse, gen1, 2.3 turbo. trionic). BTW, the pdf posted from the Russian site is GOLD. Several on this list have sent the url. Thanks!
