Then if you ever do get limp home mode again, have it scanned properly with an ISAT.
If your mechanic is an experienced Saab mechanic, he should know that an ISAT scan is necessary before progressing any further. A plain old scan shouldn't cost you more than $60 to $100, depending on how ruthless the scanner is!
Drive it and see how it goes.
