I agree with Yaofeng that that is a lot of effort to pick up an older 9k that isn't running. Maybe if you were a DIYer and had an attraction to the older cars, or wanted a project, but otherwise...
It is rare to find an older 9k in good shape, so it's cool to hear there's maybe still a few out there, but as you need a practical car, perhaps a newer one for about the same cost as buying and shipping this one makes more sense (and this is coming from someone who drives an '87 9kT).
To answer you question though, in '86 the turbo wasn't automatically a fully loaded model like in '87 and later, so you could indeed get it without leather or sunroof for that year.
