I'll keep that in mind for future reference!
I posted about the problem on Mar. 6, but nobody suggested an impact wrench. I tried to turn the bolt with an electric drill, but it didn't have enough torque. Right idea, wrong tool.
Tools are a significant cost of doing this job yourself. Spring compressors (forgot how much), $31 for a 7/8" spark plug socket that was useless because it didn't have a hex nut (farmallparts assured me it did before I ordered), $17 for the big bubba hammer and $52 for a special 22 mm strut socket that I had to modify with a bench grinder. Some of these prices could have been less, but I didn't know I would need these things until already into the job, then paid extra for faster shipping.
I've posted pictures and a writeup so saabers would have a better idea than I had about what this job entails. I was hoping someone would suggest a better way to remove the bolt. Next time I'm trying an impact wrench.
