Ray, you may be onto something. When my daughter had borrowed this car (6 months) I recall getting a call from her that the central locking had stopped working. She had to replace the fuse....and then I think a 2nd time as well. If my memory serves, the 2nd time she increased by 5A to get the functions to return. This tells my Engineer brain that the load actuating the locking solenoids were seeing a higher load (somewhere) which increased the current draw to actuate them. Perhaps now either (1) the mechanism in the drivers door is SO stiff that the locking solenoid failed and won't allow the key to actuate it, or (2) the drivers door lock solenoid itself is the culprit, frozen with the door LOCKED? I suspect in either case the door covering must come open. I will however try the suggested can of lube/penetrant first....why not? As suggested, fire that can down the locking tab and let it soak overnight, then try and actuate the system? Nothing to lose except some dead grass from the lube running out the door drain holes.......
