Mid 20s usually, while cruising.
lot of variables to take into account; road grade (up hill or down hill), quick throttles up to 90-95 for passing cars and trucks, speed zones (AKA small town ticket traps)... All those things add up to accelerations and deceleration that can change the algorithm for MPG ever so slightly.
Its interesting to observe on a long trip like that.
I remember the sweet-spot being in a zone where the cruise was just at about 74MPH. Averaged about 30MPG and the engine just purred right along at a healthy RPM.
Tricky though because it was just fast enough that you ended up on the tail of freight trucks all-to-often and had to change lanes frequently to pass (lane changing is another factor that I worked into the EDU algorithm) but too slow to keep the flow of traffic in the passing-lane.
And I sat there thinking ..."here are all these people flying past us. and they have no idea how much fuel they could be saving!"
Of coarse I'd be the guy 40 minutes later flying past em all at 110mph once we got out of the speed zone.
Low pressure turbo but, man that thing could scoot!
