A serious tug on the release pull tab results Posted by DET17 [Email] (#1254) [Profile/Gallery] (more from DET17) on Wed, 21 May 2014 19:38:05 In Reply to: I think all years will interchange..., RayF, Wed, 21 May 2014 13:53:51 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
in the locking actuator moving a bit….but not sure it moved full stroke? I'm not sure that the actuator on the drivers door is working properly. When I pull other door lock tabs on other doors, the central locking actuates 2 of my doors, but not the drivers doors (F & R).
The small dog-leg link that connects to the key cylinder was not being actuated due to the broken ball stud. I suppose I could search for a ball ended stud that might fit the dog leg link….but it would take a super small one, and I'm not sure there is room for a nut behind the cast lever protruding from the locking cylinder. You might be able to JB Weld the stud into place. However, I still have no function from the central locking actuation by the drivers door.
Tomorrow I'll do some testing of my connections from the drivers door locking cylinder, and see if I can get it to actuate.
Back to my question, I've read of eBay sellers who claim that 92 and earlier interchange, and 93-98 are also common. I've not found anyone else yet to confirm what interchange regarding locks.
