0 degrees C 5800 ohms
20 degrees C 2600 ohms
80 degrees C 320 ohms
According to the Haynes manual you can measure the resistence over pins 2 (yellow) and 11 (black) on the big ECU connector. This is probably a bit easier than measuring for the sensor itself, which is pretty tricky to get to. Of course if the wiring/connections are bad instead of the sensor then that would show up measuring at the ECU too.
FYI, if the sensor is disconnected the ECU assumes it is 20 degrees, so it might be worth disconnecting it and starting the car to see what hapens.
I bet disconnecting the AIC wire plug will give you the same results it gives me. My theory is that the AIC itself is not at fault, it's just getting weird signals. It seems to repond well otherwise, as it doesn't hunt at idle and and it compensates for the AC quickly.
