Hi Folks,
I'm only able to get my turbo gauge about halfway into the yellow still. I just upgraded the APC with mods on Tweaker's page, and adjusted the wastegate a few turns as well, but still the boost never goes past half-yellow.
I tried the blow/suck test on the hooter valve, and it seems solid. I also tried unplugging the center hose on the APC solenoid and I then get great boost right up to the yellow/red border. I didn't push it further, to try to get it actually into the red, but I think it might go if I did. Should I go ahead and try? I just don't want to damage anything.
I'm still hearing a little bit of tinny-clattering sometimes under boost which sounds kinda like light pinging, but I am told that the APC solenoid makes a similar random clicking sound. I did fix that one-way valve problem I had going to the vacuum retard on the dizzy, so that isn't causing a problem.
Do I need to reset something to get my max boost back up? I heard that sometimes you need to disconnect the battery or something in order to reset the ECU. Will this work on my car, or do I have a different system?
The turbo seems to spool up quicker after my APC mod, but it just isn't going high enough. One more thing I noticed is that my gas mileage is now about 25mpg on the highway instead of 30. I'm not driving any harder on the highway and even with careful control of the pedal cannot maintain anywhere near my usual 30/31 mpg, so I'm not sure what's wrong there. I do notice the boost gauge reads higher now even under very slight acceleration. Could I have given the wastgate too many turns perhaps?
Sorry so many questions, but if anyone can help me out with this, I would really appreciate it. I miss seeing the boost go right over into the red like my old 9000T.
Thanks!
