Unfortunately, Saab is yet another victim in the new, more efficient global economy.
Look at the new Jaguars, the have a unique grill, but the rest of the car looks a lot like a Lincoln. It has morphed from a quirky, distinguished British auto., to something of a generic hybrid undifferentiated from most other cars on the road.
The same morphing is now happening to Saab, and nothing will stop it, except a potential GM divestiture at a later time.
The great value of Saab in an ever-increasing world of generic products designed for the largest demographic group at the lowest cost, was its truly unique Swedish character that will now be diluted and destroyed in the name of efficiency.
