I have a 99, so let me answer a few based on my experience...
1. Yes, change oil, Saab will do it for you anyway. Dealer should also run through a checklist of items. Mobil 1 will get ocmments both ways.
2. Use any gas you want, but with the Saab engine management you get what you pay for. More octane gives more power under certian circumstances. Giuven high cost of all grades these days, the good stuff is not much more on a percentage basis.
3. If you find a release for the rear headrest, let me know. I still haven't. This is bad feature, especially since they go to the toruble of allowing the seatback to fold down. With the large hear rests, that is a particularly useless feature.
4. Cupholder is helpful when you have a passenger with a drink.
5. If you had the alarm set, turning the key could trigger the system. This has happened to me when wiating in a locked car and absent-mindedly triggering the stereo. Also watch out for absentmindedly grabbing the door lock to unlock when alarm is set. This can easily happen when parked with roof down.
6. I have used home made CD with no problem in my factory in dash unit.
11. You are running now with DRL (Daytime running lights) on. Manual will give you a fuse to pull to disable that feature, allowing you to choose when to have headlights on or off. Then, the left position is off, center is parking lights which means headlights on with car running, parking lights stay on when car turned off. Right setting is headlights & taillights on and off with vehicle. Its nice once it beocmes second nature.
Hope that helps. Enjoy.
Nevin
