...I really haven't done enough tuning to really know how much of a difference it will make. Specifically, I had to keep the boost from coming on too quickly to avoid overshoots. This won't be a problem with the softer spring.
I am happy to hear that you've noticed a big difference torque. This may be due to the fact that the auto has limited torque compared to the manual version. One would think that the MBC partially cancels that limitation. I look forward to more complete testing.
The fuel cut on our ECU's is what doesn't allow us to get as much boost as our friends with 5 speed 9-3s. The manual has a cut at 15psi, whereas the auto has something less than that (anyone know the actual number...I really should have a boost guage). Saab obviously wanted to prevent damage to the more fragile automatic transmission.
You're right, the Abbott (or similar) upgrade would definately make more of a difference in this case. The Abbott has different fuel maps than stock, so it will allow boost beyond the factory fuel cut. In addition, it better protects the transmission by limiting boost in first gear. Unfortunately, I too will have to wait...or maybe build my own (see my post above).
