There may be some misinformation here about Saab's military/diplomatic IDS progrtam. On 2 July, I will pick up my new 9-3 base coupe at the factory, purchased for $22,800 plus options under the mil/dip program. This price includes a hotel overnight with two meals in Trollhattan, US duty and shipping to any USA dealer up to 5 years after delivery. I paid less than the regular tourist delivery price for the car, but was not eligible for Saab's offer of two United/SAS plane tickets from the USA to Goteborg that goes with the regular tourist delivery program. I'll get to England upstairs in a USAF C-5 and then will fly on Ryanair to Goteborg for only 8 pounds. The tax was more than the airfare. In the end, the mil/dip factory delivery pricing for 9-3's is about equal to the regular tourist delivery price without the $1200-1500 in plane tickets.
