Good reviews. I test drove an S60 T5, and S80 2.9 and a base S60 and will tell you that while all of these care rode well, had great stereos and good brakes, they failed to grab me like a SAAB 9-5 or 9-3 both of which offer superior steering balance and weighting, smaller turning radiae, more comfortable upright seating, more useful storage and utility, more driving feel and road connection and much better engines with much less turbo lag. The S60 T5 was real a dissapointment and I would opt for a 9-5 Aero any day if you want the ride of the Volvo. The S60 is a pig and and a T-5 is just a pig with lipstick on it. There is no instant "Viola" or "Eureka" epihany when you first drive a Volvo. Instead, over weeks or months, you slowly come to accept the compromised driving dynamics of the Volvo line-up and your expectations of SAAB-like responsiveness and engine thrust are replaced with gee, the stereo really is top flight and the car does have a nice look if you don't mind windshield distortion that creates a permanent head's display of the dash reflection on the windshield. The door locks are lame and the trunks seem small, cheaply made and ill-suited for real serious shopping.
