This discussion originally was a4 1.8t vs. 9-3 Se. No question which car is better,saab wins hands dowm. When you start comparing the s4 with saabs especially modified saabs things start to change a little. If you simply chip the s4 hp rises from 250 to 307. Throw in an exhaust and it goes to 320. Don't remember torque numbers, but over 350ft/lbs. With S03 pole tires and a short shift kit I do not believe a saab will come close. Both a s4 and a viggen are great cars. More for fun than practicality. Tires and rims on both are expensive to replace and both are great runners. Unfortunately when s4 is worked and is over 300hp it will leave saabs behind, and do it without smoking the tires. Just so you understand my wife drives the s4, my son drives 9-3se and I drive a 4 door 1 ton pickup with a balanced 454. When I drive either of these vehicles I get the turbo rush and a big smile on my face!
