Erik's right Ray, they are different. In practise unless you drive on the limit all the time (and you're comparing say, rally cars...) you'll be able to get the 9-3 to go as fast through bends as your guts will allow. I've been driving Saabs for 17 years [older models] and have many happy experiences of leaving behindmore 'exotic' machinery going around twisty roads. Saying that, my current '00 9-3 ragtop does feel a bit vague in the 'straight ahead' steering position, but I'm advised it's the tyres. All my previous Saabs have been very sensitive to wheel & tyre combinations [like two different cars in fact, before & after: 99s, 9000's etc] as you might expect with a front driver... if you've got 6x15" wheels you should notice more 'feel' going to 7.5x17".
Incidentally, here in Australia Saab doesn't sell the 9-3 Viggen any more, the anti-FWD press basically killed it stone-dead and the dealers can't sell them... all because they were used to RWD Commodores, Falcons and BMWs and didn't know how to drive it...
