1) Along with frequency of plug inspection, we need to ask 'how bad was the gap when you inspected it?' It makes sense when you think it takes much higher voltage to fire the plug with a large gap.
I never touched the plugs until 31k. When I took them out to replace them, the gap was still 1.0mm. This sounds contrary to many stories about erosion of the gap.
2) Driving 'style'(?) What I mean is in addition to city/hwy, some of us really enjoy getting into the boost. The Saab is my wife's car, and she doesn't drive like that. I bet that influences gap erosion.
