Never would have thought that Al should be higher. Why is that? I do have a K+N drop-in filter. It's been in there for about 25K now, and i haven't touched it. But I do remember checking and rechecking for fit when I put it in, paranoid about crooked fit. I'll take a look this wknd.
On your advice, and others on saabnet, I bought the AVLube magnet about 20K miles ago. It does indeed pick up just the smallest amount of metal paste every 5K.
Should have also mentioned, my miles are almost entirely highway (maybe 90/10).
Also been using Purolator PureOne filters only.
