I found the E-code lenses mush better for my 900 than te stock lenses. I can't attest to the coverage on the left side of the road (your main complaint on your E-code Miata lenses) for 2 reasons. One, not many walkers on dark, narrow roads out here in Texas, and two, I also use Sylvania's H4 55W/100W bulbs!
Same wattage as stock for driving when others are around, just like any other car on the road, and DAYLIGHT when I use my high beams.
With the crappy stock lenses, the various makes of bulbs didn't really matter anyway (even with the 55/100's). The only claim they could make for certain was they were more expensive...
Been running my Sylvania's for a few years now. Never had anyone flash me for blinding them (I am considerate of oncoming drivers and always dim my lights when within 1/2 mile or so) and never had one burn out.
