Torque/weight ratio is even more important

As the old saying goes, people tend to buy horsepower but drive torque.
For example, if one car makes max power 225hp at 5300rpm, and another car makes the similar amount max power at 6500rpm, the first car is delivering 10-20% more power than the second car at all rpm's below 5300! Because
power = torque x rpm
Now, how often do you rev a car beyond 5300rpm? as opposed to the typical 2000-3000rpm everyday driving? That more or less summarizes the difference between upcoming 9-5 Turbo4 vs. BMW 528i.
