I leased a 2005 MINI Cooper S for 3 years. Its a great little car if you enjoy spirited driving and don't mind wearing a mouth guard on bumpy roads. Handles like a go-kart and the supercharger accelerated like a rocket. I had the sport suspension, which is a bit redundant. Surprisingly roomy on the inside for the driver and one passenger; I'm 6 foot and never felt cramped. Mileage was disappointing, 27 in mixed driving, but I had a lead foot. The new engines are supposed to be more efficient, and the S version has gone to a turbo instead of a super charger. Boring. Still, I drove a regular MINI as a loaner and found it had very good performance on its own, and the trans is really slick. Don't get the early ones with CVT trans. If you buy one, you'll have a blast.
