A few observations:

1. MINI-related forums (MINI2 and NorthAnericanMotoring) are not as useful as Saabnet. Very few DIYers and car-savvy people there. Every time I do a search I have to filter through a boatload of unrelated stuff.

2. No WIS. You have to buy a paper Bentley manual. On the other hand there are online resources for EPC and wiring diagrams.

3. Interior trim quality is very low. I also not a big fan of the interior design.

4. I get 35 mpg in summer, 29 mpg in winter. Requires premium fuel.

5. Maintenance is very easy. Just a few clips to do the cabin filter. Easy serpentine belt. Easy spark plugs. But the same idiotic BMW oil filter where you change just the paper insert.

6. Fairly reliable.

7. Not as rustproof as Saabs.
