a number of folks on here said they can or have handled loss of engine power and every driver should know how to react - agree completely but in some cases depending on the situation you can be in jeopardy and not all drivers are as proficient or experienced to react properly when the steering and braking is impacted. One has to remember that the typical driver of a cobalt or saturn is often a younger individual or those of less monetary means. A couple of my daughters friend had cobalts, and as I posted I once rented and drove a chevy cavalier - really a substandard auto.
IMO GM acted irresponsibly - did you look at the graph I published showing the no of deaths in the cobalt and saturn compared to civics and corollas attributed to airbags failing to deploy ?
