Both the Saab and the Mercedes dealers simply handed me the keys (Viggen and Areo, and I forget which Mercedes although it was supercharged). All others (BMW, VW, Subaru, Volvo, Toyota, Jeep) came along for a drive. Of course, some of these are after I got the Viggen, so they think I'm wealthy. When I drove there in my beatup Jeep Pickup, they all fled.
I wish my Saab dealer would have told me, "You don't need the power of the Viggen -- buy an SE, which has great deals on it now, and get a Jeep Cherokee in June because they won't be making them anymore and will be giving them away."
I went to Helmut's (sp?)(BMW) here in CT on a Sunday to see what they had, and there were very few new cars there. You couldn't even drive particular models (330Ci or 330xi) because they didn't have them. I don't know how they stay in business.
