Because the soaking in pan would not involve any fluid going into the engine at all; I'd be rinsing the pan with engine oil afterward before refilling with synthetic oil for actually engine use. If fluid is run through the engine, some of it gets into the oil cooler, and therefore can never come out by just by draining the pan.
The reason why I'm thinking of soaking the bottom of the pan, and especially the pickup screen hovering close to it (i.e. a quart or two in the sump) is because according to the in-depth articles that I read, even regular full-synthetic oil change would still result in plastic/carbon bits at the bottom of the pan . . . which kinda makes sense: why else would there be a oil uptake screen in every car if bits and pieces at the bottom of the pan are the natural result of running any internal combustion engine in real life conditions over a long time. Given the fine mesh screen that we have there to protect the light oil pump (in order to satisfy some dumb government bureaucratic mandate on fuel consumption, which is negated the moment I put in xW40 oil to give my engine longevity so that less resources are wasted on building new cars for me), those bits and pieces are plug-ups waiting to happen just like the drain screen in the kitchen sink.
