I realized that a C900 had some major limitations a couple years ago and have since put my SPG in maitenance mode only. This allowed me to buy my 9-5 aero which has a much better base to for bigger horsepower.
I think I have around 220-230 HP at the wheels, which is plenty fast for a road car. It took me two years to get to this stable point, so I'm not about to start breaking things again!
The car still gets a couple of grand a year for maitenance so it's still a pretty big money pit...
My advice is to put in a Scanwest Stage II tranny (if the tranny is shot) and then put in a smaller turbo to bring the horsepower down. It won't be as fast, but it will probably be a lot more fun since it's not breaking parts everytime you go out.
Also, as a trick for the turbo hoses, I used JB Weld and put a 1mm bead around the pipes to keep the hoses from popping off. I haven't had one pop off yet.
