I think to compare apples to apples you need to compare the 06 Maxima with the future 06 9-5. Having said that I have two thoughts:
1. I think Saab 9-5 does lose out on the auto buyer looking for lots of gizmos. Saab needs to catch up, hopefully the 06 9-5 will rectify this problem. People start out a car search by using the web, this often comes down to a features comparison.
2. I test drove the 05 Maxima. As a former Maxima owner, I was looking forward to this test drive. It looked great in the auto show. But I found the driving experience disappointing. Lots of gizmos don't necessarily give a car a soul. The 9-5 has a personality that's unique and isn't close to being copied by any other car.
