Monster FM Converter is another option

Clearly the best option is the hard wire method, but since I'm not comfortable doing that to my car just yet - and since I have heard nothing but awful reviews from the cassette route, I went with a Monster FM Converter - and have been very pleased.
I tried one on a trip from Maine to NJ last month and found that I only had to change frequencies a couple times. If you live in an area where there are lots of FM stations throughout the frequency range, this may not work for you - but I live in central Maine and can travel just about everywhere leaving it set at 89.1
I plug the converter into the rear cigarette lighter, place my iPod next to the parking brake, et voila!
The quality is pretty good - not hard wired good, nor CD quality good - but seems as good as a decent FM radio station signal.
One of these days, I may go the hard wired route, but for now (and for $50), this works just fine for me.
Good luck,
Jay
