Yes, maybe I picked the wrong word..."refinement"...and really meant "well thought out details." I think part of it is a factor of the manufacturer keeping the same basic platform for enough years to actually accomplish the refined, well thought out details...but that is common with other European makes as well and is really more a criticism of the American way.
After all is said and done, a car is not an investment, it's an expense, and for maybe 20% - 30% more expense, those of us who appreciate the details can be happy...regardless of the specific make or model.
