Here's one thing I can never understand... car rags constantly moan about turbo lag, yet with a lot of non-turbo cars, you don't reach meaningful power until you're way up in RPMs... from my driving experience, it seems like it takes much longer for a Honda or Lexus to "spool up" to ~4000rpm where the meaningful power starts than any time spent experiencing the dreaded "turbo lag".
It's a conspiracy. Drive the cars you mention. Forget about the numbers and see which one you think is more powerful for your normal driving conditions. Friends with far more "powerful" cars that drive my lowly 170HP lpt are always impressed with it's "power".
