Toyota, Honda and all the rest are fine automobiles, but they have their fair share of service headaches too. Reliability has improved dramatically in all brands so that todays Kia-Hyundai-whatevers are more reliable than the reliability champs in 1990, Lexus. Statistically a car is more reliable than a NASA spacecraft by the mile.
Saab is the European car reliability king according to Consumer Reports, better the the competing Lexus, but all cars are so reliable as to make your point meaningless.
Life's too short to drive boring cars.
