John, lot's more cars than that are offered with the combo of ABS and stick shift, but you have not answered the question of what happens when the brakes are locked up on a stick shift. Not that this did not happen before the daysof ABS, but you are putting a terrific strain on the engine when you do this if you have not already depressed the clutch.
By the way, I have driven both the M-3 and the 360 Modena with the paddle shifted transmissions, and love the way they work. I just happen to think that BMW overcomplicated the idea with all the various combinations of shift speed and clutch engagement speed with the multiple programs that are driver selectable.Very surprised to hear that you bailed out of that car to go back to a conventional 6 speed setup.
