Is that when auto magazines test cars in both manual and automatic configuration,a car like the 9-5 shows such a small difference between the two in both the 0-60 and quarter mile times that it would really take a stopwatch to tell the difference. On the road, with the two cars side by side, the driver with the quicker reflexes is going to win that race. If I were buying a car that could do 0-60 in manual in 6.6 seconds, and the auto was 6.7,who cares? Off the line from a dead start, the auto will win every time. Yes,acceleration within the gears on a manual is slightly stronger due to no losses in a torque converter, but in today's modern transmissions, it is just too small to worry about.
