Basically, what Ian is warning about is the power tool method of fastening wheels on. This works fine for most cars, but when you have a fine automobile like a Saab with alloy wheels, and whose brake rotors are held on by the wheel lugs as well, then the right torque level becomes important.
Often, the tire shop will just tighten the lugs as tight as they will go. This often results in warped rotors or squeeking brakes.
So, get a torque wrench and loosen then tighten the lugs to the right torque (81 ft/lbs.). Or tell the tire shop to set their power tool to the right torque, and hopefully they'll pay attention. Most likely they won't, however.
