Based On My Experience Posted by Ian Glenday [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Torque Sticks (long), Woody, Tue, 30 Mar 2004 10:26:22 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
torque sticks caused a slight warping of stock rotors. Based on many years of experience watching tire jockies doing tires I have seen them abuse most of the equipment they use; and, my tires and wheels. Torque wrenches are an expensive item and I'm sure a shop would not tolerate any abuse of one owned by them. I think the idea of torque sticks is good for average use but where the wheel / rotor combo cannot tolerate any difference in torque, I advocate a calibrated torque wrench. I rotate wheels every 5K miles and use a calibrated yorque wrench courtesy of the Patrck AFB Auto Hobby Shop.
