I have a CPO 2000 9-5, purchased last November. I researched many other vehicles from Acura, Volvo, Subaru, VW, etc. before my purchase. There are fine cars out there, however even if I were buying new, I'd get the 9-5. Yes, the 9-5 has some issues, but search this Board: this car's problems tend to be confined to some specific components and are largely consistant, and solvable. Not nearly as many of those diagnostic nightmares and the feeling of where-is-it coming-from-next which is being experienced by owners of other cars (and what I had with my last "upscale" car, purchased new). This, coupled with the numerous structural inprovements made in 2002 to an already very safe car, makes the 9-5 contemporary and more than competitive. I'll deal with the been-there-already styling. It puzzles me why it isn't selling better than it does.
