Just about everyone who is a 9-5 owner and aware of this board would probably agree.what does Saab do to follow the current 9-5, but just as important.....WHEN? Model cycles for other manufacturers have dropped dramatically in the last 15 years, mostly at the motivation of the Japanese,so even for those of us who might not care for their cars, there is little boubt that they have raised the bar regarding getting new technology out to the market faster than either the Americans or Europeans.
I'm on my fifth saab, and second 9-5,and like others here,don't particularly want to buy a third model of anything,simply because I know that technology has advanced since the time that the 9-5 was initially designed,which is now 10 years ago. Putting a band aid on the current 9-5 is not going to change it's appearance or how it performs. It is still a terrific combination of looks,safety,performance and economy, but while Saab has been making deals with subaru and Chevy for re-badged versions of existing cars, the mid-luxury market has passed them by. Not sure what I will do in a year, but odds are it will not be a third 9-5.
